Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1921 GMC Tank Truck - By Randy Sawyer

This model of a 1921 GMC tank truck was made from scratch in September of 2004 by Randy Sawyer. The sign was made using dry transfer letters and by making use of a copy machine. There is even a brass valve on the back of the tank. Everything is to scale, even the wheels. The front are 36" and the rear are 40" in 1/87 scale. The spoked wheels are modified Circus Craft Wagon Wheels and plastic tubing stretched to size. The top and bottom of the tank, the roof, top of the hood, and fenders are brass. Styrene was used elsewhere except for the wooden walkways. MV lenses were used as headlights and a driver figure added from Campbell Weston.
