Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

International 4400 Compressor Truck & Ford F-150 Service Truck - By John Brain

From newcomer John Brain we're pleased to present these two models The IH compressor truck on the left uses the frame and cab from a Boley IH concrete mixer. The compressor on the back was scratchbuilt from plans John drew up from the actual compressor dimensions. The compressor depicted is used to supply large volumes of air to large pnuematic drills and construction equipment. All the decals were custom made John. You can even see the Sullair logo on the rear door!!! The construction company is a made up name and will reside on his HO scale railroad (John's building a heavy construction diorama depicting the construction of the proposed freight tunnel that will run under New York Harbor). They truck is even weathered with the appropriate "mud & dirt".

The pickup is an Atlas F-150 with a Custom Finishing toolbox. John added windshield wipers and antennas to the truck. He also added the hoses for the compressor truck which are made from wire that are used in electric motors. This wire has a cloth cover which has the same appearance as the 2" air lines used on these larger compressors.
