"Being a child living Paris, I often looked out the window at the many vehicles which traveled on the Boulevard Bessières. Among them, I always had the memory of a curious transport: A tractor-trailer loaded with Panhard Dyna 54 bodies. These were made out of aluminium by Slipper and then transported to the Panhard workshops for assembly. The tractor was a Citroën U55, which places the scene in 1955 or 1956, the year when Panhard stopped using aluminum bodies.

"The model was produced starting with a cab from Citroën U23 from Top Model, modified to provide the more generous dimensions of the U55.

"The trailer is an integral creation according to my memories of the time. The bodies came from Jouef models that I disassembled and modified.

"The memories of childhood sometimes find their realization much later. This model was started in 1990 and was finished in 2001, time needed to find six Dyna 54 bodies at the swap meets!"

"Etant enfant et habitant Paris à l'époque, je regardais par la fenêtre les nombreux véhicules qui circulaient sur le Boulevard Bessières. Parmi eux, j'ai toujours gardé le souvenir d'un curieux transport: les carrosseries de Dyna 54 Panhard, réalisées en aluminium par Chausson et transférées dans les ateliers Panhard pour assemblage. Le tracteur de la semi-remorque est un camion Citroën U55, ce qui situe la scène en 1955 ou 1956, année où les carrosseries en aluminium furent abandonnées par Panhard.

"La maquette est réalisée à partir d'une cabine de U23 Citroën de chez Top Model, modifiée pour lui donner les caractéristiques plus généreuses du U55.

"La remorque est une création intégrale d'après mes souvenirs de l'époque. Les carrosseries proviennent de modèles de chez Jouef, démontés et améliorés.

Les souvenirs d'enfance trouvent parfois leur concrétisation bien plus tard. La maquette a été commencée en 1990 et terminée en 2001, le temps de trouver 6 cabines de Dyna 54 dans des bourses d'échange!"
