Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

"Galloping Goose" Rail Motor Car - By Thomas Lange

The cab and wheels are genuine car stuff. The chassis is made from Evergreen styrene strips and shapes. However, the body is really alien material, it comes from a Roundhouse rialroad baggage car kit. The cab needed the combination of two Wiking cabs of the vintage pre-war Mercedes L 2500. The wheels come from Busch as their technique with an inside stop for the rubber tires makes the rims perfect to serve as rail wheels. (front from the VW beetle, rear from a Ford AA light truck). The prototype for the model is Motor No. 2 of DRG&W. Thomas stated he did not follow all details, but tried to keep the general appearence.
