This Crouse Cartage set of doubles started as an Athearn "Ready to Roll" model. The Freightliner cab shortened to 63" BBC and mounted on a 6x4 frame per the prototype. A-line fuel tanks, scratchbuilt battery box and spare tire carrier, and Lonestar Models wheels and tires for the third axle were used. Kingpins moved back to 36" setting .
