1921 International Stakebed Truck

By Randy Sawyer

According to Randy the origins of the International Truck goes back to Cyrus McCormick and his grain reaper. Scratchbuilt in October of 2007, this model of a 1921 International Stake Truck replaces a similar model made by Randy in the mid-1970s that was accidently ruined. The wheels for this newer version were fashioned from Circus Craft wagon wheels narrowed down considerably with simulated "solid rubber" tires fashioned from 3/8 inch Evergreen styrene tubing. The driver figure is a unique creation made by reconfiguring a truck driver figure by Preiser.
