Military Surplus GMC Logging Truck - By David Fugere

This truck started life as a Roco Military Truck. The hood or bonnet was cut and raised to allow the installation of a large six cylinder gas engine. Fender mounted headlights were removed and stand alone lights attached to the fenders along with new rear view mirrors. The truck frame was modified with wood and steel braces to carry either pulpwood or backwoods equipment for logging on David Fugere's Black Fly Lumber Railroad. The pulpwood shown below is cut twigs from a Federal oak tree and the John Deere tractor shown above is a heavy weathered Athearn model. "Peaches," as David has nicknamed the truck, is now ready to spend the day working in the woods.
