Peterbilt 389 & 40' Refrigerated Container On Tridem Chassis - By Jim Groeneweg


Jim Groeneweg started with a Norscot Peterbilt 389, removed the roof fairing, side sleeper door, raised the cab roof, and added roof lights and lower cab/sleeper skirting lights. All windows were flush mounted, interior and air horns are from a Tonkin 389, chassis modified from a Malibu 379, fuel tanks, exhaust stacks and mirrors are scratchbuilt, half fenders and fifth wheel from Kibri, and Dennis Aust air breathers, wheels and tires. Colours are '67 Ford code X burgundy red metallic along with '58 Dodge Truck  Sahara Beige BASF base/clear paint system. All chrome is Alclad except grille and visor.

The trailer is a Walthers container clear coated and paint detail added, riding on a modified Athearn chassis. The chassis has a 72" spread axle tridem suspension, a Kibri Fuel tank along with two A-Line belly mount reefers and quick Testors grey re-paint.
