Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Ford F-600 Dump Truck - By Rod Reilly

This truck started life as a Life Like Scene Master dump truck. As produced the wheels are way too small and detail is minimumal (Note: That's an understatement - webmsater). The cab shape and dump bed have been done nicely however. On the advice of another HO vehicle model maker, Rod Reilly replaced the wheels on the stock truck with wheels from a Jordan Miniatures Ford school bus. They are the right size and have the look of the prototype and help to take away the "toy" look of the model as produced. Then loads of detail were added to bring the truck up to Ford F-600 standards. Rod says he likes the challenge of taking a cheap toy and morfing it into something of value, something one might want on a realistic model RR pike.
