World War I Ford Model T Ambulance - By Chester Fesmire

Here's more photos of Chester Fesmire's World War I Ford Model T ambulance. In July of 1917 the U.S. government contracted with Ford to build an ambulance for the the war. By September they had produced over 2400 of these wood bodied ambulances on their Model T touring car chassis. Chester used the Jordan Products chassis and front clip and built the body for this WW 1 ambulance. The red cross decals are 1/76 scale from Hinchcliffe Models. The canopy over the driver and rear roll down are tissue paper and the body is all styrene. Previously featured in Photo Gallery 467.
