Mack DM600 Logging Truck Tractor - By Dennis Raper

Here's another look at Dennis Raper's Mack DM600 logging truck. The truck tractor was built using a Ralph Ratcliffe Models resin cab kit. Dennis also used Ralph's frame kit, six spoke wheel set, and air horns. He used Plano "Bulldog" photo-etched mirrors, quarter-fenders, slam-locks, and treadplate for the scratchbuilt saddle-mounted toolboxes. The headache rack is a modified Alloy Forms piece. The door decals are from JCT. The trailer is a shortwood or stickwood trailer that was common to the southeastern United States until the early to mid 1980s. It was used for hauling short sticks of pulpwood. This trailer is scratchbuilt from styrene I-beam and square rod. The ladder is from the junk box and the wheels/tires are from Herpa. The trailer is loaded with 7' sticks of hardwood pulpwood. Previously featured in Photo Gallery 483.
