Classic American Racers on the High Banks of Monza, Italy - By Ralph Ratcliffe

This spectacular photo was taken by Andy Madden on Ralph Ratcliffe's new diorama built expressly for the 2013 East Coast Meet recently in W. Springfield, Massachusetts. The two Indy 500 race cars in the lower part of the photo were both built by Ralph from Masterbilt Models resin kits that Ralph built the mold masters for. Both of the Ford GT endurance race cars on the high banking are Spark Models assembled resin models. The red car in front, the Mark IV design, was the 1967 Le Mans 24 hour endurance race winner. The black car, a Mark II design, was the 1966 winner of the same race. Both prototype cars featured Ford's enormous 7 liter (427 cubic inch) displacement racing engines.
