Peterbilt 367 Truck Tractor & Oilfield Acid Blender Trailer - By John Ross

This very neat oilfield trailer from John Ross is an acid blender trailer used in hydraulic fracturing. The acid is stored in the rear tanks which is mixed together with sand and other chemicals in the vat behind the engine mounted at the front of the trailer. The engine is from Ralph Ratcliffe Models, this one a Detroit Diesel 6V-71. The platform in the center of the trailer with the trash can looking thing is the opening to put the sand or other dry material into the system to be mixed in the vat. This model was scratchbuilt. In real life it would also be plumbed to the frac trailer. The truck tractor is a rucks N' Stuff Peterbilt 367, the International 7600 truck tractor in the lower right is a Boley/Scenemaster model. On display at the 2014 East Coast Meet in W. Springfield, MA.
