Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Grumman Step Van - By Jim Groeneweg

Jim Groeneweg set about recently to model a "typical" Grumman step van model. He did a fair bit of research and found a few variants of the actual model and found for the most part this series van is more at home with 17” wheels and tires, inset axles and MOST do not have the lower rub rail and NONE of the ones Jim found have the raised bead along the bottom of the body. With that said, Jim removed the bead, removed the rub rail and changed the wheels to River Point Station 5 hole steel wheels in white and painted the centre hubs semi gloss black and touched up the lugs nuts. It was dismantled and repainted in GM’s Frost white and detailed.
