Autocar DC10264 Water Tanker Truck - By Brian Donato

Brian Donato built this Autocar water tanker/dust control truck as a part of a larger fleet for an employee at AA Hobbies in Warwick, RI (very highly recommended shop!). The cab, chassis, steps, horn, mirrors, exhaust stack, wheels, and tires all came from a kit from Alloy Forms. The tanker body is a modified piece from Jay Tatum at JCT World. The windows and bugĀ  deflector are clear plastic cut to shape. The strobe lights are from ROCO. The front bumper is modified from an Athearn fire truck. The hose reels on the rear are from an Athearn fire truck and the hoses wrapped and hanging on the rear rack are painted beading wire. The ladder, rear bumper, piping (metal tube), and fuel tank are from the parts box. The truck is loosely based on a prototype found on an online auction site. The color of the cab and tool box are SP Daylight Red from Polly scale and the tanker is painted gloss white. The red lights on the rear of the tanker body are scale jewels. Decals are Microscale. Weathering was done with MIG pigments and brushed on weathering powders, sealed with Testors Dullcote.
