Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

DJL Construction Mack Granite Dump Truck - By Christophe Culis

Christophe Culis built this DJL Construction Mack Granite using a resin cab from Ralph Ratcliffe. Christophe modified the radiator grille using a Herpa/Promotex grille center section. The rest is scratchbuilt or coming from Christophe's spare parts box. The dump body represents a Lagacé model, 19/20 ft. Most of the key details are reproduced: flashers mounted on the mirrors, lift axle, the tarp winder, lever to manually unlock the dump body gate, and the asphalt trap door for partial unloading, and the side extension panels (2 rows, made of balsa wood and painted red). DJL Construction runs one just like this in the Montreal area. It is a typical Canadian (Quebec) twelve wheel configuration (this one actually has a lift axle).
