Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

Canadian Grain Trucks - By Günther Storch

German modeler Günther Storch, who has provided extensive photo coverage of the Mo87.de Fulda Meets the past several years, sent us these photos of his model railroad layout showing a whole range of grain trucks waiting to get unloaded at an elevator in Alberta. Among some Lonestar Models Wilson grain trailers are a fleet of self-built grain tippers and grain hoppers, all poured in resin. Günther constructed the Canadian B-Trains from blueprints conforming to the legal length restrictions of Canadian truck laws. Some other trucks among the grain rush you may recognize from the past (Athearn Ford F-750) and there is another B-Train with tanks from the Trucks N' Stuff line shortened to legal length. The oilfield heavy bed truck barely visible in the foreground above is a Shapeways 3-D printing mounted on a Western Star 6900.
