Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

'29 Ford Hot Rod "Rat Fink" - By Samuel Denehy

This model began as a 1929 Ford sedan by Jordan Highway Miniatures. Samuel Denehy saw a photo of the Famous Rat Fink Purple People Eater and decided he had to build it. Samuel chopped the roof, cut and shortened the body, channeled it, built a custom frame, custom motor mounts, and custom front end. The engine is a resin big block V-8 cast by Lou Wee, modified with an eight carb intake, all plumbed and wired with fuel lines and plug spark wires. Also added were a blower belt, pulleys, and fire spitting out of the exhaust tips. The model is painted in Candy Purple metal flake. The flames are photo-etched by Pitstop87,cut to fit. The front trailing arms and grille are Pitstop87 a swell. The seat is painted metal flake red to match the original photo. Wheels are from Hot Wheels with custom made vinyl white walls. You may see more of the build process on Samuel's Fotki album.
