Bob Sundstrom, publisher of Model Freightways, had a large fleet of "typical" LTL fleet tractor-trailers on display at the 2018 East Coast Meet in W. Springfield, Massachusetts. This B&P Motor Express R model Mack is a stock Athearn truck tractor with a scratchbuilt and kitbashed Convert-A-Van from two rack side flatbed trucks offered by A-Line. The trailer, popular in the '60s, had a fixed nose cowling, a tarp, and side and rear door panels that when set up was an enclosed open top trailer. When knocked down, it served as a flatbed. The nose enclosure served as storage for the panels, tarp, etc. when used as a flat. Previously featured in Photo Gallery 639.
