This interesting photo sent to us by Randy Sawyer is
that of a 1924 Autocar tractor and flatbed trailer hauling a vintage
fire engine. Like many of Randy's models, the Autocar is scratchbuilt using
styrene, brass, and scale lumber. There are a few commercial detail
parts incorporated in both of the models such as Evergreen Hill leaf
springs, Grandt Line and Circus Craft wagon wheels, and Precision Scale
22" four spoke brake wheels. The vintage fire engine is unusual
as it is on a scratchbuilt chassis but uses parts taken from a Jordan
Miniatures Ahrens Fox Pumper Truck. The parts from the kit were modified
and many other parts made up from scratch resulting in a "one of
a kind" vintage fire truck.
