Jesse Weigand built this pair of CSX boom trucks this past summer and finally got to take some pictures on his new Route87 module. The boom trucks feature 3D printed functional booms and scratchbuilt beds. One, on the left in all these photos, has a Boley International 7600 cab and the other features a Masterbilt Models Mack Granite resin cab. The Mack features high rail gear and a 3D printed man basket. The cable spool and its trailer are also 3D printed. The 25 ton tag trailer is also a 3D print with a BLMA block signal as its load. These trucks and trailers are a common sight trackside as railroads upgrade to positive train control.
