In order to create this model, Rick Hoskinson cannibalized three kits. The hood, front fenders and underframe came from a Wiking Mercedes Benz L10000, the cab is from a Brekina Mercedes Benz L325, and the bed and rear frame is from a Wiking Krupp Titan. Added details include MV Products lenses, Notek light and pintle hitch from Roco, wheels and tires from Herpa and fuel filler neck from Details West. The trailer was built from the spares box and represents a rig in the 4.5 to 5 ton class according to the reference material used in its construction. Both models were painted with Model Masters Panzer Grey with a custom mix for the tarps.
The German army used these heavy supply trucks extensively on all fronts until production was discontinued later in the war. The last photo at bottom shows the difference between the pre and post 1938 cab styles.
