Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

2001 West Coast Meet Report

The 1/87 Vehicle Club's West Coast Meet, held February 17, 2001, in Culver City, California, was the modeling community's debut of the newest Boley truck models! As with Boley's previous International truck releases, this new truck will be available in a wide variety of configurations including the currently available fire and rescue bodies. This promises to be a very popular new product! In addition, new Kenworth T-800 cab conversion kits in resin from Dennis Aust and a new Caterpillar 797 mining dump truck in brass were introduced at the show. Check the February 2001 New Products section for more info and photos.

As usual, the models entered in the modeling contest categories were, as we have come to expect, truly extraordinary. We also had a fairly large variety of excellent models for display only that were not entered in the competition.

2001 West Coast Meet Model Contest Photos

One of the highlights of our club's 2001 West Coast Meet was the model display and contest that is open to the general public (non-members as well as members). Some of the best modeling in any scale was available to meet attendees. Posted below are the winners' models; our congratulations to the winner of each category!
