Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

1999 Portland Convention Preliminary

As part of the 1999 1/87 Vehicle Club convention, convention attendees were treated to many display and contest models. Pictured below is the first installment of our photo coverage.

sm_Cat_D250E.jpg (4712 bytes) This is the Classic Construction Models Caterpillar D250E articulated off-road dump truck.
sm_dragster.jpg (3768 bytes) This dragster model is the handiwork of former club newsletter editor Wayne Calder.
sm_airport_crash_truck.jpg (4960 bytes) This airport crash/rescue truck is a beautiful scratchbuilt model by Trip Aiken.
sm_Ford_wrecker.jpg (4188 bytes) This heavy duty wrecker by Ray Storozuk  combines a scratchbuilt wrecker body with a Herpa Ford L9000 cab and chassis.
sm_Isuzu.jpg (5528 bytes) This Isuzu low cab forward flatbed truck was created from a M-A-N truck cab, extensively modified. Very creative modeling by young Rich Olson.
sm_two_strokes.jpg (5604 bytes) This collection of vehicles are all the handiwork of former club newsletter editor Wayne Calder. The snowmobile is from C&D Models, the racing kart is from Automobilia, and the motorcycle is by Herpa.
sm_hot_rods.jpg (3364 bytes) These three fine models are the work of a modeler from the Portland area who "found" the club via this web site and entered these models in the contest!
