Promoting Excellence in HO Scale Vehicle Modeling

German WW ll Hunting Panther (Early Version) - By Rick Hoskinson

Richard Hoskinson says to date, he is unaware of any kits available of the early version of this tank destroyer so he modified the Trident model of the late version to create the vehicle you see here. The rear engine deck was replaced with the Trident Panther A version as well as the exhaust system. The gun mount casting was reworked as well as the driver's vision port. Heiser's cast resin tracks replaced the less detailed plastic units and a scratched gun barrel from Evergreen styrene to create the true diameter of the 88mm main gun. After adding numerous other details, Modelmasters Enamels finished the tricolor camo scheme and washes, art pencils and dry pigments were used to complete the overall appearance.
